Dans la petite ville de Nyang U, on aime les centres de the. Comme partout au Myanmar, on peut s'asseoir et deguster un the au lait sucre. Apres notre escapade au Mont Popa (et 6h assis dans la boite d'un pick up), nous nous reposons les fesses dans un de ces endroits ou les gens se reunissent et souvent regardent la tele (parfois 2 emissions differentes s'il y a 2 teles!) Cette fois, tous semblent captives par ce qui se passe a l'ecran, i.e. une voiture qui se promene au millieu d'une foule. Avec une jeune femme habillee de blanc qui salue d'un cote et de l'autre. Bon sang! On est en train de voir le mariage de Kate Middleton et du Prince William!! En plein Myanmar, dans un petit resto perdu plein de Birmans captives. C'est fou ca!! On a celebre en reprennant une autre tasse de the! A la British!
In the little town of Nyang U, like everywhere else in Myanmar, there are tons of tea stations. You can just sit there and order some sweet milk tea, and get also free Chinese tea as much as you can drink. So after our visit to Mount Popa, we were sitting in one of those tea places where locals gather and often watch TV (sometimes 2 shows at the same time, if there are 2 TVs) Today, there was a little group gathered and watching some car parade. There was a lady in white waving to the crowd. Wait a minute! That was the Royal Wedding we were watching, in the middle of Myanmar, in a little tea place full of locals. How incredible is this? Timing and everything? Well, we celebrated the news with yet another cuppa tea ;)
